6ixty Tournament 2022 : Date, Schedule, Rules

THE 6IXTY – a brand new T10 or 60-ball format cricket league founded by Caribbean Premier League (CPL) and Cricket West Indies (CWI). The first edition of this tournament will take place from 24th August to 28th August 2022 before the latest (Caribbean Premier League) CPL 2022 schedule that is starting on 31st August 2022.

All the matches will be played at Warner Park in St Kitts & Nevis.

There will be 6 Men’s teams and 3 women’s teams participating in this tournament.

There is a total of 12 Men’s matches and 7 Women’s matches over five days that will be played in this 6ixty tournament.

Chris Gayle – The Universal Boss, has been announced as the ambassador of this inaugural edition by Cricket West Indies.

6ixty Rules

• Each batting team has six wickets instead of 10 wickets – at the fall of the sixth wicket, they are all out.
• Each batting team has 2 PowerPlay overs. They can unlock the third PowerPlay by hitting two sixes in the first 12 balls. This extra PowerPlay over can be taken by the batting side at any time between overs 3-9.
• There will be 30 balls bowled from one end and the remaining 30 balls from the other end.
• The 30 balls will be delivered as 5 separate overs, with no bowler being able to bowl more than 2 overs for the innings.
• If teams do not bowl their overs within the allotted time a member of their team is removed from the field for the last over
• Fans will vote for the timing of a “Mystery Free Hit” where a batter can’t be given out.
