After a successful outing in 2022, actor Siddharth Malhotra is gearing up for his next blockbuster film, set to release in January of next year. In this thrilling covert mission, Malhotra will take on the role of a spy, teaming up with Rashmika Mandanna as they explore the events that shaped the relationship between India and Pakistan in the 1970s.
The recently released poster for “Mission Majnu” gives a sneak peek at Malhotra’s character and the mission at the centre of the film. For Mandanna, this will be her debut in Bollywood and promises to be a movie filled with “grit, heart, drama, and mesmerizing music.”
This film marks the directorial debut of Shantanu Bagchi and features a script co-written by a trio of writers: Parveez Shaikh, Sumit Batheja, and Aseem Arora.
The Recent Trailer Release
In the teaser, we see Sidharth’s character, a RAW agent, embark on a covert mission to gather intelligence on Pakistan’s nuclear plans. He is aided by Rashmika’s character, a young woman from Pakistan who is caught in the midst of the conflict.

When is the OTT Release?
The trailer for ‘Mission Majnu‘ has been well-received by netizens, with many expressing a desire for it to be released in theatres.
However, the film will be premiering on Netflix on January 20. It features an ensemble cast including Sidharth, Parmeet Sethi, Kumud Mishra, Sharib Hashmi, Zakir Hussain, and Mir Sarwar. Sidharth was last seen in ‘Thank God’, but his performance in ‘Shershah’ and chemistry with Kiara Advani continue to be popular among audiences. Rashmika, known for her role in ‘Pushpa’, will also be appearing in ‘Mission Majnu’, which has generated excitement among fans to see the fresh pair on screen.

Why Netflix?
The movie, produced by Ronnie Screwvala’s RSVP Movies in collaboration with Netflix, follows India’s rise to global superpower status and the efforts that contributed to its current standing as the world’s fastest-growing nation and largest democracy.
The film’s shooting began in February of last year, originally slated for a theatrical release on June 10. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the release was postponed and will now debut on Netflix on January 20th. Screwvala says, “It’s a story best suited for the audiences on Netflix with its global reach… Sidharth Malhotra and Rashmika Mandana make this story come to life and RSVP are really proud to present this.”
When asked about the movie, Malhotra said.
“I can’t wait for the release of ‘Mission Majnu’!
