Anup Kumar Yama: Biography, Career, Awards & More

Indian skater Anup Kumar Yama was born on September 1st, 1984. He developed a passion for skating at the age of six, and he has not turned back since. He was coached by his father Veeresh Yama.

He is the only Indian to win:

• At the district level – 80 Gold Medals
• At the national level – 80 Gold medals
• At the Asian level – 8 Gold, 5 Silver, and 9 Bronze Medals
• At the world level – 1 Bronze and 1 Gold Medal

He received the Arjuna Award by the Indian government in 2015 for outstanding achievement in the field of sports.
